How are Luminette sheers mounted?
-
Luminette sheers can be mounted in various ways: inside mount, outside mount, outside mount to the floor, wall to wall - floor to ceiling, outside mount - measure for stackback.
All mounting options are available in left, right or slip stack.
-
What mounting style is preferred?
-
For Luminette sheers we recommend Outside Mounting.
* Outside mounting is ideal because the vanes and fabric are allowed to operate freely. By overlapping the opening, outside mounts provide complete fabric coverage and enhance light control and privacy features.
* Inside mounting is not recommended because it prevents the end treatments from rotating with the vanes. This results in light gaps on the sides of the sheer when the vanes are closed, as well as compressed end columns. Inside mounts also have light gaps on all four sides, which are particularly noticeable with room-darkening sheers.

How do you clean Luminette sheers?
-
Periodic cleaning is recommended to help keep Luminette Privacy sheers looking like new. For all cleaning applications, fabrics should remain hanging to minimize handling, wrinkling or puckering.
* Feather dusting or light vacuuming is usually all that is required.
* Customers can spot-clean any soiled areas using a clothing pre-treatment solution. Blot the soiled area as you support it from behind with another cloth. Let dry, then blot with distilled or bottled water to rinse.
* Steam machine method for wrinkle and crease removal:
– Rotate vanes to the fully opened position.
– Steam from the back side of the fabric whenever possible. Set the steamer to its lowest possible setting, not to exceed 212° F (100° C).
– The steaming unit should never directly touch the fabric. Hold the wand 2" to 3" away from the fabric.
– Use slow, continuous vertical movements. Begin at the top of the fabric and work your way down.
– Let the area air dry.
* For a deep cleaning, either the injection/extraction method or the
ultrasonic method is recommended.
* Caution: Do not use electrostatic cleaning devices on any Luminette product.
